Traxxas 82044-4-GRAY TRX-4 Sport High Trail Edition Gray is a ready-to-run radio-controlled trail truck built for technical off-road driving. The High Trail Edition combines portal axles, a factory-installed long-arm lift kit, oversize 2.2-inch wheels and tires, and a trail-tuned XL-5 HV electronic speed control.

Tough, Lightweight Pickup Truck Body

The pickup body uses high-angle bumpers for increased clearance, a molded grille and tailgate, LED-ready headlights and tail lights, and full nylon-composite wheel wells and floor pans.

Scale Accessories

A rugged expedition rack carries detailed scale accessories. The body also includes an injection-molded snorkel and side mirrors.

Clipless Body Mounting

The clipless design creates a smooth body appearance, with body details mounted directly to the internal frame for quick access without conventional body clips.

Trail-Tuned XL-5 HV Waterproof Electronic Speed Control

The fully waterproof XL-5 HV ESC offers five drive profiles: Sport Mode with forward, brake, and reverse; Race Mode with forward, brake, and no reverse; Training Mode with 50% forward, 100% brake, and 50% reverse; Trail Mode with forward, brake, reverse, and a trail-tuned drag brake in neutral; and Crawl Mode with forward, instant reverse, no neutral, and 100% hill-holding brake. It also includes Traxxas EZ-Set one-button setup, a large efficient heat sink, compatibility with 6 to 7-cell NiMH packs from 7.2 to 8.4 V and 2S to 3S LiPo packs from 7.4 to 11.1 V, and two-stage low-voltage protection.

Titan 550 Motor

The powerful Titan 21T reverse-rotation motor uses an internal cooling fan. Precision preset gear-mesh adjustments keep setup simple, while motor retention remains separate from gear mesh.

Portal Axles

Portal axles increase ground clearance, help eliminate torque twist, use steel gears, improve axle geometry, and reduce strain on the driveshafts.

Driveline

The full-time shaft-driven 4-wheel-drive system uses tough 6 mm stub axles, steel front CV driveshafts, hardened steel rear axle shafts, spool-locked front and rear differentials, and a steel-gear transfer case.

Factory-Installed Long-Arm Lift Kit

The lift kit increases ground clearance by more than 1 inch, maintains precise steering geometry, and accommodates oversize 2.2-inch wheels and tires.

TQ 2.4 GHz 2-Channel Radio System

The ergonomic transmitter has an internal antenna. The Traxxas 6519 3-channel micro receiver provides fail-safe security, and its patented O-ring-sealed watertight receiver box helps keep the receiver dry.

Reinforced Steel Ladder Frame

Full-length 1.5 mm-thick steel frame rails support bumpers that adjust fore and aft, rugged rock rails that adjust for width, and wire-routing clips integrated into the frame rails.

Innovative Battery Compartment

The hinged battery strap provides quick access with no pins to lose. The compartment accommodates different battery heights, accepts full-size long battery packs, and can accept smaller 1/16-scale batteries with an optional strap.

Transmission

The single-speed transmission uses steel gears, dual horizontal shafts, and a twin friction-plate slipper clutch. The transmission can be easily removed for servicing.

Steering

The chassis-mounted 2075X metal-gear digital servo provides a 45-degree steering angle. Direct steering without a servo saver and corrected steering geometry help reduce bump steer.

Suspension

The front suspension uses a 3-link layout with panhard, while the rear uses a triangulated 4-link layout. Heavy-duty rod ends with steel hollow balls, 5 mm-diameter steel link rods, and 4 mm threaded ends provide trail-ready durability.

Extended Aluminum GTS Shocks

Oil-filled coilover GTS shocks use extra-long silver-anodized aluminum bodies for greater articulation. Threaded bodies and collars adjust ride height, while the damping system uses an O-ring cap seal and dual X-ring shaft seals for smooth performance on rough trails.

Oversize Wheels and Tires

The 2.2-inch 5-spoke wheels include replica beadlock rings and are fitted with pre-mounted 2.2-inch Canyon Trail tires. The tires use a trail-tuned S1 rubber compound, trail-tuned foam inserts, and 12 mm steel hexes.

Additional Details

Sealed ball bearings protect the drivetrain and running gear. Hex hardware with rust-resistant black oxide coating adds durability. Battery and charger are sold separately.
