Extreme Crawling Performance
The Traxxas 1/18 scale TXC-4M™ Extreme Crawler revolutionizes RC crawling with its clean-sheet approach. An all-new monocoque chassis allowed Traxxas engineers to position the electronics and suspension for optimal weight distribution and geometry. The result is a radical new design with huge forward weight bias and massive ground clearance. Outfitted with only the best parts, TXC-4M delivers the competition-grade performance and extreme fun that could only come from Traxxas.
An extreme crawler needs an extreme power system and TXC-4M delivers with 11.1 volts of brushless 3s LiPo power. 3s power allows TXC-4M to run a high-reduction driveline for ultra-precise throttle control and exceptional torque with crawling speeds so low the rig appears motionless.
TXC-4M is purpose-built to deliver the ultimate crawling experience, due in part to its all-new chassis. TXC-4M’s monocoque chassis is both significantly lighter and more rigid than a traditional ladder frame. With no chassis flex, TXC-4M tracks straight and true even under extreme articulation.
TXC-4M delivers competition-grade steering performance with an exceptional 60° steering angle, tight turning radius, and laterally mounted 2265 metal-gear servo with 75 oz-in of torque. High-clearance steering and drag links allow TXC-4M to tackle the toughest lines without getting hung up on the rocks.
Portal axles lift TXC-4M at the wheels, giving it more ground clearance under the center pumpkins. Portal axles also limit torque twist by transferring gear reduction to the wheels and away from the differentials. With less torque twist, TXC-4M is more stable and less likely to twist itself off the rocks.
Huge 1.3” x 2.8” Stone Claw™ beadlock tires get TXC-4M up and over obstacles easily with an aggressive stepped-block tread design that maximizes biting edges. Molded in soft-compound rubber, Stone Claw tires grab onto rocks with unrivaled traction, outperforming even the best aftermarket tires.
TXC-4M includes a powerful 3-cell LiPo battery and fast USB charger. The compact battery puts out 11.1 volts of power for nearly limitless rock-climbing torque and high-rpm trail driving. The iD™ equipped charger balances the battery perfectly every time with no complicated settings to memorize.
Chassis and Performance Features
Forward weight bias increases grip to the front wheels, allowing steeper ascents, more traction for steering, and better overall balance for climbing obstacles. As a clean-sheet design, Traxxas engineers were free to move weight around the chassis to strike the perfect 60/40 balance for TXC-4M.
TXC-4M is a clean-sheet design with one purpose in mind, to deliver unrivalled crawling capability in a compact package. From the all-new monocoque chassis to the lay-down shock design, every part of TXC-4M contributes to that goal. With TXC-4M, the climbing line you choose is up to you, not limited by your rig.
TXC-4M comes ready to climb walls with a huge 56.3° driving incline angle and 79.8° static incline angle right out of the box plus exceptional side-hilling capability. A combination of forward weight bias, a low-CG chassis, and incredibly grippy tires gives TXC-4M truly unrivaled climbing capability.
On a technical course, mere millimeters can make the difference between clearing a gate marker or falling off the rocks. TXC-4M sets a new benchmark for turning radius with its incredible 60° steering angle.
TXC-4M comes battle-hardened and ready for action with an incredibly robust driveline built for 3s torque. All metal gears in the transmission, differential spools, and portal axles deliver rock-solid durability with steel axles and heavy-duty telescoping center driveshafts in between.
TXC-4M’s larger 1/18 size puts more rubber to the ground for exceptional off-road performance. Detailed wheels and tires are sized just right to carry TXC-4M up and over real-world obstacles with a stunning scale appearance.
Unlike traditional vehicles which rely on shocks for ride height, TXC-4M’s oil-filled GTM Pro shocks are mounted horizontally to provide exceptional articulation to the wheels. Their brightly anodized aluminum construction delivers superior damping performance with a realistic scale appearance.
TXC-4M’s lightweight tube-frame body keeps the center of gravity low and provides maximum clearance for extreme technical crawling. Removeable body panels and a full interior give TXC-4M a high-tech appearance with nearly limitless customization.
A standalone ESC provides powerful 3s LiPo power and three custom crawl modes. Use Sport Mode for traditional forward, brake, and reverse. Trail Mode adds a trail-tuned drag brake to control descents with the throttle in neutral. Crawl Mode adds 100% hill-hold braking for maximum grip on the rocks.
Light up the trail and give TXC-4M a unique look with three LED lighting options (sold separately). High intensity headlights and a roof light bar light the path ahead with rock lights to scout the perfect line. All light kits are custom-designed to fit TXC-4M with built-in wire management and easy installation.
Technology and Construction
The included USB-A charger provides fast and convenient charging almost anywhere. Traxxas iD technology is the easier and safer way to charge LiPo batteries. Just plug the iD battery in and the charger does the rest. When the LED light turns green, the battery is charged.
The included 3-cell LiPo battery provides 11.1 volts of high-performance power and long run times with Traxxas iD safety and simplicity. The specially designed iD connector plugs directly into the ESC and cannot be plugged in backwards.
The TQ transmitter packs long-range control and glitch-free 2.4 GHz performance into a compact package that’s lightweight and comfortable for all-day fun. The transmitter features an ergonomic grip color-matched to the vehicle with removable adapter to accommodate smaller hands.
Functional 1.3" replica Method Race Wheels® 105 beadlock wheels provide maximum grip on the tire bead and fit a standard 7 mm hex. Add optional brass wheel weights (sold separately) to give TXC-4M even more stability for tough technical maneuvers.
TXC-4M uses high-quality hex hardware with a rust-resistant coating for long-term durability and secure fastening.
TXC-4M’s high-performance tube-frame body latches into the front of the chassis and snaps shut with invisible clipless convenience in the rear. The rugged body stays securely mounted to the chassis, but releases in just seconds.
Designed specifically for TXC-4M, large 1.3” x 2.8” Stone Claw tires feature lightweight foam inserts that allow the tires to conform to the climbing surface. Tall, stepped blocks grab onto rocks and extra-wide sipes resist clogging up with debris.
Steel front portal weights add valuable mass down low to keep the wheels planted for improved climbing agility and rollover resistance.
TXC-4M achieves its remarkable 60° steering angle through superior engineering. A powerful metal-gear servo drives an extended metal servo horn to provide maximum throw. Steel U-joints and high-angle steering knuckles are used on the front axles for superior articulation.
A steel front axle cover increases the front weight bias and adds weight to the lowest part of the vehicle to improve TXC-4M’s anti-rollover stability and superior rock-climbing capability.
An extended metal servo horn provides more throw but requires a powerful servo. The 2265R servo cranks out 75 oz-in of torque, more than double the torque of a conventional sub-micro servo. An all-metal gear train and aluminum center section give the 2265R exceptional durability.
GTM Pro shock bodies are precision-machined from tough 6061-T6 aluminum and anodized in brilliant color. The springs sit under the shock bodies for a realistic appearance. Dual O-rings provide a perfect seal on the shaft to deliver smooth performance over rocky terrain.
The 3350 Kv brushless motor offers exceptional torque and low speed rock-climbing control. On the trail, the 11.1-volt motor delivers high-rpm performance and dramatic speed. A black high gloss can with laser etching gives the motor a striking appearance.
The TQi receiver is compatible with both TQi and TQ Compact transmitters, making it easy to bind with your other Traxxas transmitters. Dual servo and LED light plugs offer maximum flexibility, and its lightweight construction adds minimal mass to the chassis.
TXC-4M’s rides on a sophisticated 4-link triangulated suspension with excellent articulation and axle control. High-clearance lower links angle upwards at the axles to provide maximum center ground clearance.
Portal axles lift TXC-4M at the wheels for increased center ground clearance while decreasing torque twist through the chassis. TXC-4M’s new 2-gear portals are efficient and strong with ultra-wide drive gears for superior durability and sealed ball bearings to reduce friction.
TXC-4M’s outer driveline is all steel from the axle spools all the way to the wheels. Steel driveshafts connect to portal drive axles and stub axles through high-strength U-joints for superior articulation.
TXC-4M’s single-speed transmission features all-metal gears for maximum strength with sealed ball-bearings for smooth-running precision. The motor mounts directly to the transmission assembly for quick and easy removal.
Heavy-duty center driveshafts telescope freely to allow maximum suspension travel. Smooth-running CV joints are engineered for long-lasting, trouble-free performance.
Solid front and rear axles are fully locked to send equal power to all four wheels with no slippage possible. Metal spool gears and steel axles ensure rock-solid durability, even with TXC-4M’s 3s brushless torque.
